We eventually hopped in the car and headed over to this gorgeous historic home for a bit. (Also, Becky… I’m in love with your purple dress.)

I have been wanting to post these for SO LONG. Corey is crazy handsome (And a Hokie!), and Sara is insanely gorgeous (And a real live ballerina!). I don’t think that combination can be beat…

We wandered around Shockoe Bottom in Downtown Richmond, and found so much incredible light. I fell totally in love with this alley…I mean, how often do you come across a meticulously clean/landscaped alley, topped off with incredible light? I normally love the urban decay feel you typically get from a good city alley, but this was a nice change.

Sara & Corey – I hope you had as much fun as I did. :) I can’t wait for July!!!!!! (Also, Sara – get your toe shoes ready…we’re getting together for a ballet shoot soon!)

Ashland is a sweet town with lots of character, and Clara grew up in the area. So even though these two are getting married in the giant city of Washington, D.C. they decided to make the trip down south to a quieter location for their engagements.

Clara & Chris!! You two are a ridiculously good-looking couple. Just so you know. :)

Kristin and I met through her sister, Lauren, who got married in January in Disney World. Both Kristin and Lauren had gotten engaged in the same year and ended up having their weddings only 4 months apart from each other (crazy and also so awesome!).  I was lucky enough to be chosen as photographer for both weddings, which meant familiar faces and hugs at Kristin and Kent’s April wedding.

Kristin and Kent’s wedding was a low-key, cozy, affair and the whole thing was tucked away at Cabell’s Mill, a quaint historic property in Centreville, VA. They decided to do a First Look, and planned extra time to see each other privately before the wedding and for portraits. The First Look fit perfectly into their goal for the day, which was to have a relaxed, not-a-care-in-the-world kinda day.

The ceremony was held under an itsy-bitsy tent (the skies were threatening us all day), and even though it was a small wedding, we were packed together, giving the ceremony a sweet intimate feel.

Married! Hooray!!!

At the reception, tables were blanketed with deep purple linens, and there were dots of silver sparkles everywhere. Yay sparkles!

And the rest of the evening was as it should be…full of laughter, dancing, great food, and happiness.

Congratulations Kristin & Kent! And thank you so much for trusting Ruben and me with your wedding day photos. We had such a great time getting to know your families and friends.

There was a slight chill in the air, almost as if fall was approaching instead of summer. He wrapped her in his arms to keep the chill at bay. They got lost in each other’s company, and seemed to forget I was there capturing it all.

Happy Friday everyone!

I am super excited about this. Coleen and Joe (PaperFreckles’ proprietors) are extremely talented, and working with them is completely effortless – to say they are deserving of this recognition is an understatement.

Okay everyone – go find a patio and enjoy an ice-cold beverage. Amazing weather is here to STAY! (I hope!)

Andrea and Wren got married. I was there, and it was marvelous. :)

Andrea and Wren decided to have their ceremony in one of Richmond’s most incredible churches, the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. It is breathtakingly beautiful.

The reception was non-stop laughter, dancing, and hugs. And there was PIE. Pies are so delicious.
